Time with God vs time with the world

 

KNOWING GOD AND JESUS

 

HOSEA 4 vs 6: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

 

Most Christians have no idea how little they know and understand about God and His system and His ways. Most Christians might be in Church for 1 - 2 hours, one day a week. Most of that time is spent listening to the choir, taking up offerings and announcements etc... Then the preacher preaches the word of God for 20 minutes. ( you do not even get 20 minutes if the preaching is weak, watered down, feel good preaching, self righteous preaching, law preaching or just down right false teaching). Not to mention if you are part of the body of Christ and you don't go to church at all or only on Christmas and Easter plus not read your bible or study. But then the rest of the week, we listen to the world through, the news, school, books, television, newspapers, internet, music etc... 16 hours a day for seven days a week minus 8 hours for sleep. Below is a breakdown on how this adds up.

 

Breakdown:

1 hour weekly of church = 4 hours of church monthly of hearing about God

16 hours daily x 7 = 112 hours weekly x 4 weeks = 448 hours monthly hearing the world                  

                           ( 4 hours of church monthly vs 448 hours of hearing the world monthly )

 

4 - 5 hours of Church monthly x 12 months = 52 hours of God yearly

                                               vs

444 - 476 hours of the world monthly x 12 = 5,715 hours of the world yearly

 

                             By the time you are 10 years old

 

52 hours of God yearly x 10 years = 520 hours of God at 10 years of age

                                                vs

5,715 hours of the world yearly x 10 years = 57,150 hours of the world at age of 10

                           

                             By the time you are 20 years old

 

52 hours of God yearly x 20 years = 1,040 hours of God at 20 years of age

                                                vs

57,15 hours of the world yearly x 20 years  = 114,300 hours of the world at age of 20

 

                              By the time you are 30 years old

 

52 hours of God yearly x 30 years = 1,560 hours of God at 30 years of age

                                                vs

5,715 hours of the world yearly x 30 years = 171,450 hours of the world at age of 30

                                                

                              By the time you are 40 years old

 

52 hours of God yearly x 40 years = 2,080 hours of God at 40 years of age

                                                vs

57,15 hours of the world yearly x 40 years = 228,600 hours of the world at age of 40

1 JOHN 4 vs 5 - 6;

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

       As we can see from the scriptures above, if you hear more of the world than God, you will be speaking, thinking and hearing the way the world thinks and operate (which means you are vexed, the same as Lot was in Sodom and Gormorah. The more you hear God's word, the more you will speak of and hear, and operate, and understand the things of God.

        We as the body of Christ need to re-think our walk with Christ. We need to go to Church more, we need to pray more, we need to study more and we need to go to bible study more. Imagine if you, your son or daughter only went to school for 1 hour a week. At this rate, if we apply these numbers to elementary school. It would take you or your child 22.5 years to learn to read or write. It would take 405 years to graduate from High School. So how in the world do we think that we know and understand God by going to Church just one day a week for 20 minutes to one hour.

         So now the question becomes; is your life truly glorifying God? do you truly know God the Father and Jesus Christ whom He sent or do you know the world? Because the bible says to study to show yourself approved, also to seek out your own salvation with fear and trembling. We as the Body of Christ need to re-think our Christian walk with Christ. We as the Body of Christ need to go to Church and bible study more, pray more and fellowship with each other more, so iron can sharpen iron. So "do you really know and understand God?" Do you really know your bible? If these number persist in your life, then in actuality you really know more about the world and not much about your creator. Maybe it's time we re-think our Christian walk. Maybe when you think your Christian walk and speaking glorifies God, maybe just maybe you may be glorifying the world. Just a thought!

         "Do we really know and follow God or do we really just know and follow the world". (or are we just deceiving ourselves). Even the Israelite's and jews had a full 24 hours a week. On the sabbath day they served God the whole 24 hours of that day. That one 24 hour day equals 1248 hours a year vs our 52 hours a year. It will take most Christians 24 years to reach that numbers of hours. The world tells you to live out an outer image. God's word tells us it's the inner man, and to be functional and usable for God's purpose! The choice is yours. I am not saying you have to have your head in a bible for 16 hours a day, what I am saying is, maybe you need to rethink your walk in Christ. There are books that have been taken out of the Bible, there are thousand of archeological digs, there is the study of the ancient Hebrew hieroglyphics language and there are thousand of ancient manuscripts discovered.
