Tithing (Sacred Gift)

Tithing is the ultimate expression of faith and worship to God. The tithe is the acknowledgement of God ownership of everything. It also is the ultimate testimony that He lives and that He is Lord.   The church is the designated depository of the tithe. Give it God's way or don't give it at all. The only true way to show God worship (worth ship) is when we are willing to take of our livelihood and give it to Him. Not because He needs it, but because He said so. He said if you don't bring the tithe into His storehouse there will be no meat in His house. The meat is the word of God.

Offering (Gift);

Offerings are given in response to your value judgement on the things of God. We don't give because we're motivated by a need or grief, but we give because we are motivated by the intangible, eternal value of God's Kingdom. This is God's means to make you self-sufficient, standing alone, lacking nothing. The givingness of the saints is to God a sacrifice of sweet savor and he regards it on the same level as the giving of His Son.

Share in Common (gift of response);

Share in common with those who teach you in the word of God. Our proper response to the preached word of God is to share with the preacher. This is how to sow to the Spirit and reap life everlasting. It's the alabaster box principle. Jesus said the preaching of the gospel should be accompanied by the teaching of the proper response, the giving of one's valuables in value judgement of what was received. If you don't learn anything, you don't have to give this offering.
