JESUS the Lamb of God

John 1 verses 29-36

29 On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world! 30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is become before me: for he was before me. 31 And I knew him not; but that he should be made manifest to Israel, for this cause came I baptizing in water. 32 And John bare witness, saying, I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize in water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.  34 And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

35 Again on the morrow John was standing, and two of his disciples; 36 and he looked upon Jesus as he walked, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!

2 Corinthians 11 verses 3-4

But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one, we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you will receive it readily (easily).

Galatians 1 verses 6-10

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one, we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. 10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

There are many preachers out there preaching another Jesus and another gospel. Jesus did not come so that you can have your best life now, Jesus did not come to give you the blessings of the world, Jesus did not come to give you a 100-fold blessing, Jesus did not come for you to sow your money into some ministry so you could receive some earthly blessing etc... 1 Corinthians 15 verse 19 states; If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. The scriptures below fully explain why Jesus came to the earth.

John 3 verses 16-18

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 6 verses 38-40

38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

John 10 verses 14-18

14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. 17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This command I have received from my Father.”

Jesus came down from heaven as the passover lamb to give His life for a people who had no hope (you and I). To take on their sins and iniquities and to reconcile you and I back to God our creator in the greatest story ever told. That way God's Holy name will be glorified in all creation. (Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess Jesus is Lord. Jesus then turns it all back over to God the Father, that God may be all in all.

Hebrews 10 verses 5-19

5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. 8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, 19 there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

In order to put this into perspective, one must first realize that all mankind have fallen short of the glory of God. We became sick (sinners) and worthless to God through Adam. We were all deserving of death.

Romans 3 verses 10-13

10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, no not even one. 13 “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.”

Romans 3 verses 23-24

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

Romans 5 verse 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. and verses 18-19 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous).

As we can see from the scriptures above, mankind was in deep trouble and the only way out was that we needed a Deliverer, a Redeemer and a Saviour who could pay the price (ransom), for what Adam caused. The price could only be paid by God Himself. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God and the Word became flesh and dwelled among us.

Jesus came into this dark world to give himself (His life) as a ransom for sin. Jesus came to save His people from their sin;

Matthew 1 verses 21-23. Jesus came to take away the sins of the world; John 1 verse 29. Jesus came to give us the baptism of the Holy Spirit; (which connects us back to our creator) Luke 3 verse 16;  John 16 verse 7 and Acts 1 verses 4-5. Lastly Jesus came to take away (abolish) the old covenant of Moses and bring in a new covenant, that now we are justified (made righteous) by his grace and not by works of the law of Moses.

In order for these things to take place, Jesus has to become the Burnt Offering and fulfill each one of God's feast days, Jesus has to become the Passover lamb (sacrifice), unleavened bread (no sin), the scapegoat (barer of iniquity), first fruits (resurrection) and the High Priest (Melchizedek). To begin, Jesus was born in the month of September on the Feast of Trumpets, bringing judgment into the world. Jesus died on Tuesday our time at 3:00pm (the day of Preparation), at the exact same time the passover lamb was kill in Exodus 12, Jesus was in the grave before 6:00pm, because the next day which is Wednesday, starting at 6pm is Passover day (Jesus 1st day in the grave), Jesus is also in the grave the following day which is the Day of Unleavened Bread (Thursday 6pm) and the 3rd day which is the regular Sabbath day (Friday 6pm), Jesus rose at 6pm Saturday night our time (which is the first day of the week), fulfilling Firstfruits. You then count 7 sabbaths and 1 day, which is the the Day of Penecost in Acts chapter 2, Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to start the church age. Now lets go to Leviticus to see how Jesus became the Passover Lamb, the Scapegoat and the High Priest. (Leviticus 23)

LEVITICUS 1 verses 1-5

1 And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock. 3 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD. 4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. 5 And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

1 PETER 1 verses 18-20

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.

1 Corinthians 5 verses 6-8

6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

LEVITICUS 16 verse 10

10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness and verses 21-22,  21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: 22 And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

ISAIAH 53 verses 5-6

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Leviticus 23 verses 15-17

15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.

17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.

1 Corinthians 15 verses 20-23

20 But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of them that are asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ’s, at his coming.

HEBREWS 9 verses 22-24

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.  23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

MARK 15 verses 20-22

20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. 21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian (fit man), who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross. 22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.

LEVITICUS 16 verses 3-4

3 Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.

MATTHEW 27 verses 57-60

57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: 58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

LEVITICUS 16 verses 23

23 And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:

JOHN 20 verses 4-7

4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. 5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, 7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

Hebrews 5 verses 4-6

And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. 5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.  6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

The scriptures above demonstrates how Jesus went from becoming the Passover Lamb to being the High Priest after the order of Melchisedek. Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice, by fulfilling all of God's sacrifices and fulfilling all of God's feast days through His death. Jesus resurrects from the grave coming out of hell, (Acts 2 verses 30-32)Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell (scape goat = let go in the land of the unliving), neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses), leaving our sins and iniquities there, He raises with all authority in heaven and earth, becoming the High Priest, now able to sprinkle his blood on the altars of heaven itself, cleansing heaven and earth.

Ephesians 2 verses 13-18

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.  14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

2 Timothy 1 verses 10-11

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

Romans 5 verses 12-14

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

1 Corinthians 15 verses 53-57

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8 verses 2-3

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Hebrews 9 verses 14-17

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 16 For where a covenant is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a covenant is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Hebrews 10 verses 12-19

12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus

As we can see from the scriptures above, Jesus abolished (destruction; destroy; cast down) the enmity, the law of commandments and death. By doing this Jesus has freed us from the law of sin and death, which frees us from sin and brings us into a new covenant. This is why we are saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves, it is the gift that comes from God.

Ephesians 2 verse 15; enmity and the law abolished to those in Christ

2 Timothy 1 verse 10; death abolished in Jesus

2 Corinthians 3 verse 13; old covenant abolished in Jesus

Jesus was manifested in the earth to destroy to works of Satan! We now live by grace through faith and not by the works of righteousness that we have done.
